Colombian Coffee Triangle

Lush green hills, colorful villages, and endless coffee farms define this loop. Highlights include Valle de Cocora’s wax palms, coffee plantation tours, thermal springs, and Colombia’s most charming small towns.

The Route

Distance: ~300–400 km

Duration: 3–5 days

Salento

A colorful town surrounded by mountains and coffee farms. Visit nearby Valle de Cocora to see the towering wax palms, Colombia’s national tree. It’s also the perfect base for tasting local coffee straight from the source.

Filandia

A less touristy alternative to Salento with equally vibrant charm. Climb the Mirador de Filandia for 360° views of rolling coffee hills and enjoy boutique cafés and artisanal shops.

Manizales

A lively university city with dramatic mountain views. Known for its hot springs and coffee culture, Manizales also offers access to Nevado del Ruiz volcano and nearby thermal spas.

Valle de Cocora

Famous for its surreal landscape of giant wax palms, some up to 60 meters tall. Hike through cloud forests and valleys in one of Colombia’s most iconic natural wonders.

Armenia

A regional hub that blends urban life with rural coffee culture. Visit Parque del Café, tour coffee farms, or explore the Quindío countryside before looping back or heading to Medellín.
